5 Star Wars Characters Who Will Be Forever Immortal

5 Star Wars Characters that are forever immortal

There are far more than 5 Star Wars characters who will be forever immortal. After all, the movies, TV shows, books, and video games have brought us hundreds of memorable characters for almost 50 years. However, today we’ll be looking at 5 Star Wars characters who have become legends in the public’s eye and beloved in people’s hearts. Here are 5 Star Wars characters who will be forever immortal.

5 Star Wars Characters That Are Forever Immortal

1. Han Solo

Whether he shot first or not, he will be forever awesome. Ever since the first Star Wars movie, he has been charming audiences with his witty tongue and cocksure demeanor. Moreover, he has a beautiful character arc where he maintains his fun personality while opening his heart to others. So many fans (myself included) were absolutely devastated when (SPOILER) The Force Awakens killed him off. However, he still got his own movie. In addition, when I first saw The Rise of Skywalker in theaters, everyone cheered when Han appeared to his son. It just shows that you can’t keep a good scoundrel down. Definitely, one of the 5 Star Wars Characters that is immortal.

2. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader

Darth Vader is unquestionably one of the most iconic villains of all time. His quotes like “I find your lack of faith disturbing” and “No, am your father” have long been part of the public consciousness, as is his instantly recognizable breathing. His intimidating presence alone makes him memorable, but he also has a redemption arc and a complex backstory that was explored in the prequels.  While people may have scoffed at Hayden Christensen’s performance as Anakin when the prequels were new, now people have learned to love him.

3. R2-D2

Even people who have never seen a Star Wars movie can love R2-D2. With his adorable beeps and his multitude of tools to help save the day, he can charm anyone. Throughout both the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy, he uses his ingenuity to help out in any way he can and save people’s lives. In addition, people love his feisty attitude and the way he always manages to win his arguments with C-3PO despite the fact that he only speaks in beeps. It’s just a shame that his role got reduced in the sequel trilogy.

4. Yoda

Love him, people do. When Obi-Wan Kenobi was killed off in A New Hope, Luke needed a new Jedi Master to teach him about the Force. The always amazing Frank Oz gave a nuanced performance both in voice and puppetry, allowing him to be both quirky and wise. His backwards speech patterns and quotable wisdom permanently etched him in the public’s collective mind. Also, he is awesome with a lightsaber. In pop culture, Yoda is probably the most famous character, and that’s why he is in the 5 Star Wars Characters list.

5. Princess Leia Organa

The feisty princess has been capturing people’s hearts since 1977. With her sharp wit, her fighting skills, and of course, her giant hair buns, she will forever remain a favorite Star Wars lady. The late, great Carrie Fisher gave her a sassy, yet compassionate, personality that is instantly memorable. In a franchise that was, at the time, largely dominated by men, Leia was a self-assured woman who could hold her own against anyone. She also paved the way for other amazing Star Wars women such as Padme Amidala, Ahsoka Tano, and Rey Skywalker.

Conclusion

As stated earlier, there are far more than 5 Star Wars characters who will forever be immortal. This list could have easily included characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Darth Maul, and Ahsoka Tano. In any case, as Star Wars continues to grow, we will undoubtedly see many more memorable characters. Who will be the next Star Wars icon? Only time will tell.
