General Hospital is one of the longest running soaps on television. It began in 1963 and still is going strong. Because of its large and loyal fan base, engaging storylines and (usually) sympathetic characters, General Hospital remains a beloved daytime drama. The show’s faithful viewers get wrapped up in the world of fictional Port Charles. The hotel, the hospital, and its docks provide the usual backdrops to the residents’ trials and tribulations. Fans often love to create some pretty far-out theories, especially when it’s General Hospital.
Isaiah Gannon is RJ Gannon’s Son
Coming into town right before his BFF, Lucky, Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) has a mysterious past. While he’s only known for his expertise and spot-on judgment as a doctor, we have no idea how he became the man he is. Let’s look at the possibility he is related to RJ Gannon (One Life to Live’s Timothy Strickland).
RJ was a conniving and thieving loan shark, so Isaiah thankfully didn’t take after his father in that regard. Perhaps Isaiah is the son of Hank and Nora Gannon? We won’t know for a while in General Hospital!
Nelle Comes Back from the Dead
Manipulating and forever scheming Nelle (Chloe Lanier) fell off a cliff after a struggle with Carly (Laura Wright). Nelle comes back to town just in time to greet her ex Michael Corinthos when he comes home from the burn center. Wouldn’t that make for quite the homecoming?
Imagine poor Michael coming home only to find out Nelle is staking him. Nelle would then discover something to blackmail him with. Maybe the fact he is the father of Sasha’s baby? Perfect extortion material! By the way, Chloe Lanier is the real life partner of Josh Kelly (GH’s Cody Bell) so maybe they could do some scenes together.
Spencer is Not Really Dead at All
Alexander Nicholas Chávez, the portrayer of Spencer Cassadine, struck a note with many viewers for the few years he was on General Hospital. The gifted young actor’s character caught the eye of Trina (Tabyana Ali) and the two had a deep relationship which ended in tragedy.
Spencer and Trina’s archenemy, Esme (played by Avery Kristen Pohl), followed them to Paris. When Trina and Spencer were taking in the Paris lights by boat, Spencer and Esme fought and they went overboard. Trina grieved Spencer and vowed to get her life back on track. As soon as she and new beau Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) get serious, will long lost Spencer make a reappearance?
Dex is Alive and a Top Secret WSB Asset
Dex’s heartbreaking death came at a terrible time. His girlfriend Joss (Eden McCoy) and he were going strong and making plans for their future. Dex was recovering from his stab wounds. But what if it wasn’t Cyrus (Jeff Kober) who killed him, but it was all a grand plan by the WSB? Dex had a perfect background to get into the WSB.
Fast forward to a couple years down the line and Joss, now a full-fledged WSB agent, is tasked with tracking and eliminating Dex (Evan Hofer). Yikes – what a tangled web General Hospital would weave.
Hayden Returns to Port Charles to Wreak Havoc
Ah yes, who couldn’t resist Hayden’s shenanigans on General Hospital? Hayden, or Rachel, played expertly by Rebecca Budig, could come back from her “sabbatical” and interact with any number or Port Charles residents.
Hayden and Finn (Michael Easton) share a daughter, Violet, and Hayden also had dealings with Nicholas Cassadine and Drew Cain. Any one of these relationships could be revived to stir up some trouble. Fans of the soap might like to see some interaction with Hayden and her sister Liz, as well.
Final Thoughts
Long time watchers of General Hospital are used to the twists and turns of the show. It would be great to see a few of these storylines play out. Any one of these talented actors could make it happen.
