Millie Bobby Brown has proven she can do anything, from suspense-filled horrors to action comedies. While her filmography is not as large as some actresses, every movie Brown has done is streaming on Netflix, so you can binge them all whenever you want. Her work isn’t exactly Oscar-worthy, but these five movies/shows are worth watching.
1. The Electric State
The movie stars Millie Bobby Brown as Michelle, an orphaned teen searching for her long-lost brother. On the way, she meets Keats (Played by Chris Pratt), a truck driver/smuggler/rebel-without-a-cause who shows Michelle how to survive in the wasteland the robot war left behind.
With a mix of giant robots and touching emotional moments, The Electric State is perfect for a movie night, a lazy day off, or throw on while you do some work you don’t want to do. Taking cues from classic ’80s and ’90s movies, there is something for everyone to be found in this movie. While far from Browns best work, The Electric State is still worth watching.
2. Damsel
Millie Bobby Brown has a knack for finding a movie that tries to turn a genre on its head, and Damsel is the strongest example of this. Set in the fantasy kingdom of Aurea, Brown plays Elodie, a young woman hoping to become a Princess. She accepts a marriage proposal from the prince, but soon finds out she is being used as an unwilling sacrifice between the royal family and a fierce dragon.
This movie takes the “Damsel in distress” trope and completely turns it on its head. Elodie is our heroine, trying to survive and blow the whistle on this corrupt ruling family. Our heroine learns to truly rely on herself and not to always judge a book by its cover.
3. Stranger Things
We all saw this coming- the show that put Millie Bobby Brown and many more young actors and actresses on the map. Her performance as Eleven is both raw and unsettling, showing acting skills well beyond her years. It has almost been nine years since the release of Stranger Things’ first season, and with the release of season 5 fast approaching, this is the perfect time for a rewatch. If you needed any more reason, it is still one of the most searched for shows on Netflix.
4. Enola Holmes
A young, fresh take on the Sherlock Holmes Franchise. Millie Bobby Brown stars as Enola Holmes, the younger sister of the world’s greatest detective, who is trying to make a name for herself that rivals her famous older sibling. Arguably Brown’s most action-packed feature yet, the story of a super-intelligent young woman getting her first taste of freedom is both heartwarming and somewhat inspiring. Another fun fact: this movie made Millie Bobby Brown one of the highest-paid young actors ever!
5. Godzilla: King of The Monsters
Even after the immediate smash hit that was Stranger Things, it would be three years before we saw Millie Bobby Brown in a blockbuster film, but it paid off. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is exactly what you want from a Godzilla movie. Giant Monsters fighting? Check. Whole cities being leveled by carnage? Check. First-rate VFX? Check.
Brown’s character, Madison Russell, drives the human plot of the movie, as she and her mother are taken by the government to try and figure out how to stop Godzilla from destroying humanity, but what will they do when an even bigger threat reveals itself? I don’t want to spoil this movie anymore because I think, more than anything else on this list, Godzilla: King of the Monsters deserves a watch.
Hopefully, you’ve enjoyed this list and maybe found something to watch later.
