It’s the season for romance novels and rom-coms alike. I don’t know about you, but this time of year, my favorite thing to do is curl up with a good, heartwarming romance book outside. There’s just something comforting about the warmth of the sun on your skin while you read about people falling in love that can’t be beaten. If you’re new to the romance genre or are just looking for something new to read, here are 3 heartwarming romance novels to read in 2024.
Funny Story by Emily Henry
Emily Henry is one of those authors who just does romance books so well that you’re left staring at the book wondering if it’s appropriate to start reading it all over again as soon as you finish because you don’t want to leave the beautiful and immersive world that she’s built around her characters. Funny Story follows Daphne and Miles, roommates not by choice but by unfortunate circumstance, as they navigate their new lives as newly single people. It just so happens that each of their exes is now dating the other. Talk about awkward!
Just like Emily Henry, there is a moment in the novel where you just sit there and say, “Is this about me?”. I loved every moment of Funny Story, and I’m confident that you will, too.
Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
The multitalented Author, baker, and TikTok influencer Abby Jimenez just released her new book titled Just For The Summer. The third book in a series of interconnected standalone novels follows Emma and Justin as they navigate each of their extremely complicated lives along with their complex feelings for each other. Abby Jimenez is a wonderful writer who will make you laugh and cry, so this book is perfect and heartwarming for the summer.
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison
Now, hear me out – this book takes place in November, but the cozy, heartwarming vibes are so immaculate you won’t even notice that you’re reading about cold weather in May. Lovelight Farms has it all – best friends, fake dating, a Christmas tree farm, and a female main character with a huge heart. When Stella and her best friend Luka fake a date to win a social media contest, they realize that there might be more than just friendship between them.
Lovelight Farms is the first in a series of interconnected standalone novels, the last of which, titled Business Casual, comes out this August.

There are so many heartwarming romance novels I could choose from, it was hard to narrow down to just three. But of these three, I chose the ones that made me feel the most feelings, and the ones that left me wanting more at the end. I hope you enjoy your summer reading!
