This book is told through her field journal entries in which she details her latest expedition to study the fae. There’s a rivals-to-lovers subplot, a little faerie who bakes bread, and even a mystery to unravel. It’s gorgeously atmospheric and while it lacks the intense politicking and war that LOTR is known for, this still might be a good book for you to pick up.
Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson
