We all make mistakes, and we all have regrets, and the same goes for the celebrities that we know and love. This is especially the case for some celebrity tattoos, where some are so bad they’re willing to go through some serious pain in order to get rid of them. Many celebs have been open about their tattoo removal, while others have done it secretly. Either way, celebrities! They’re just like us. You definitely shouldn’t feel bad about your bad tattoo after all.
Pete Davidson
Pete Davidson used to be covered in tattoos — 200 of them in fact. These days, Pete looks like a completely different person. According to Variety, Pete revealed that once he started focusing on his mental health and going to rehab to better himself, he decided that it was time to remove his tattoos as they were a reminder of the person he used to be.
“I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,” he said. “So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain.” He’s been going through the process of removing them since 2020, and he’s finally showing off some serious results.
Eva Longoria
When it comes to celebrity tattoos, Eva Longoria made some big tattoo mistakes in the name of love. A few years ago, she had several tattoos removed. According to ET, she got rid of a few tattoos that were an ode to her ex, basketball player Tony Parker. She lasered off his jersey number on her neck, their wedding date on her wrist, as well as his initials. Let this be a lesson to never get a partner’s name or, in this case, number, tattooed on you.
Amanda Bynes
Amanda Bynes has been through a lot over the years, one of them being a bad decision to get a face tattoo, even if it was a very small heart on her cheek. Amanda has made great strides when it comes to getting healthy, especially when it comes to her mental health. Now that things are a lot better for her, she has made the decision to have the tattoo that she debuted in 2019, removed for good. A fresh start for Amanda is the best for her.
Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is another victim of falling in love and getting tattoos for a partner who is now her ex. From 2000 to 2003, Angelina was married to fellow actor Billy Bob Thornton. When they were happy and in love, she decided to get a tattoo of his name on her left arm. Unfortunately, once the two broke up and eventually got divorced, she had his name removed from her arm. Later on, she replaced that tattoo with the coordinates of the birthplaces of all her family members.
Mark Wahlberg
Quite a few years ago, Mark Wahlberg decided that he wanted to get rid of a few of his tattoos. According to International Business Times, Wahlberg got rid of several; a Sylvester the cat and Tweety Bird on his ankle, MW with his last name on his right arm, Bob Marley and One Love on his left arm, and a rosary around his neck with a crucifix and In God I Trust on his chest.
The reasoning? He didn’t want his kids getting any tattoos. His children were very young at the time, and he made sure he made an impression on them as he took them to his tattoo removal appointments to show them just how painful it was.
Megan Fox
When it comes to celebrity tattoos, Megan Fox has a ton of them. While she has a number of them matching with Machine Gun Kelly, she’s had a ton of them before him. One of her most infamous tattoos was a portrait of Marilyn Monroe on her forearm. According to The Independent, Megan said that she no longer wanted the tattoo because it had “negative energy.” She explained that Marilyn Monroe was a negative character who suffered a lot, and she didn’t want to attract that energy in her life.
Kaley Cuoco
Many of these celebrity tattoos are the result of poor decisions while in love with a partner they’re no longer with. As for actress Kaley Cuoco, that was very much the case. Once upon a time, Kaley was married to former tennis player Ryan Sweeting. As fast as they fell in love, they fell out of it. As a result, she decided to get her tattoo for him removed; their former wedding date tattooed on her back. She was a good sport about it, though, as she poked fun at her mistakes on social media.
Khloe Kardashian
You don’t really associate celebrity tattoos with the Kardashians, and Khloe is further confirming that as she had hers removed. Back in 2015, Khloe documented on social media when she had a cross on her lower back removed as well as the word “daddy.” She captioned her post, “The end of an era … Got this bad boy when I was 16. Not so cute anymore🙊. I should’ve listened to Kim when she told me, ‘You don’t put a bumper sticker on a Bentley.’ Bye-bye bumper sticker!!!”
Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum is another victim of celebrity tattoos for an ex. For quite some time, Heidi was married to singer Seal. To pledge her love to him on their fourth wedding anniversary in 2008, she had his name tattooed on her right forearm. Unfortunately, their marriage didn’t last, and the two decided to end things in 2012. As a result, she made the decision to have Seal’s name removed from her arm, but she still kept the three stars that were around it, signifying their children together.
Victoria Beckham
While her husband, David Beckham, has tattoos basically everywhere, Victoria Beckham has quite a few of them too. In fact, she’s had a few of hers removed, many of them having to do with David. When people noticed she was getting them removed, they started to wonder if there was trouble in paradise. Fortunately for fans, she only got them removed because they were old and didn’t like the look of them anymore.
When it comes to celebrity tattoos, there are some pretty bad ones out there, which should make us feel better about our own decisions. Luckily, they have the money to get rid of them!
