On Friday, August 30, the Detroit native delivered his new album via FF to Def Entertainment\/Def Jam Recordings. The 21-track album started with Pressure (Intro)<\/em>, in which several narrators talked about Sean’s apparent break from putting out music. “Dog, the city needs you. “Come on, man,” one voice said, while another pointed out, “Those n**gas say you haven’t been to the city in over a year.” The Detroit native responded on the next track, Iconic<\/em>, confidently stating that he’s “back to the basics, back to work.”<\/p>\r\n

Big Sean’s most recent album features hit songs like Typecast<\/em>, as well as previously released singles like Yes<\/em>, On Up<\/em>, and Precision<\/em>. His collaboration with The Alchemist’s Together Forever<\/em> appears as a bonus track at the end. He also invited other beatmakers such as Key Wane, Turbo, Wondagurl, SkipOnTheBeat, and others to collaborate on the album. <\/span>The album also includes a surprise appearance by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at the end of Break The Cycle<\/em>.<\/p>\r\n

Big Sean originally intended to release the album earlier in August. However, he decided to keep it for a few more weeks to put some final touches on it. Big Sean delivers some hardcore lyrics on this album, but his verse on Million Pieces<\/em> struck the hardest. In it, he delves into the crap that comes with fame and how he’s prepared to deal with it. He also<\/span> dedicated On Up<\/em> from the album to his young son. In the song, he talks about seeing his inner self in him, teaching him the ways of the world, and envisioning himself as an elderly grandfather sooner rather than later. Generally, most of the songs from the album are rated from 3-4\/5 <\/a>which is a good one.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
