19 Kids and Counting alum Jana Duggar is a married woman. Duggar tied the knot with musician Stephen Wissman on Aug. 15, 2024. The pair said their vows in front of 500 guests at Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Jana, the oldest of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar’s 19 kids, is excited to be finally married. She described it as a “dream come true” to be the bride to a man she has known for years.

Per People magazine, Jana and Stephen’s 500 guests included her sister Jessa Duggar Seewald, who served as her maid of honor. Her bridesmaids were her sisters Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Jordyn Duggar, and her sister-in-law, Abbie Duggar. Jana was incredibly beautiful on her big day. The 34-year-old dazzled in an off-the-shoulder ivory satin ball gown. The gorgeous bride walked down the aisle with her dad, Jim, while the “Holy, Holy, Holy” rendition was sung.
Jana and Stephen kept things simple with their wedding decorations. Speaking to People before the wedding, Jana revealed: “The venue is already so gorgeous and picturesque that I didn’t want to take too much from that. The guys will be in black suits, the girls in champagne-colored dresses, and then just white flowers and greenery.”
The couple also considered their families while planning their nuptials. After saying their vows and lighting the unity candle, Jana and Stephen joined their guests at the reception. There, they enjoyed a sumptuous dinner prepared by the Wissman family. Jana shared: “Because we’re doing an evening wedding, I envisioned this more formal, sit-down dinner. The Wissmans are incredible cooks. They’re going to do a full spread and they’ve been working on it. I’m like, ‘Just do it. I trust y’all. Y’all making amazing food.”

Jana and Stephen have known each other for many years. The lovebirds met through their families. Jana recalled how the Wissmans would travel and sing. She also remembered them coming to her family home about 13 years ago and getting snowed-in there, a rare occurrence in Arkansas. She said: “I remember just playing games late into the night, doing puzzles together until the snow melted off, and they were able to travel back home. I don’t really remember Stephen that well because I’m older than him and so he was not at all on my radar.”
Jana and Stephen reconnected a few years ago. The pair dated briefly and went their separate ways after their relationship failed; however, they stayed in touch on and off over the years. The Duggars and the Wissmans became closer after Jana’s brother, Jeremiah Duggar, tied the knot with Stephen’s sister, Hannah. Earlier this year, Jana and Stephen reconnected again and decided to take their relationship to another level.
How Jana Knew Stephen Was the One
Jana Duggar revealed that 31-year-old Stephen asked her to be his girlfriend earlier this year via handwritten letter. Despite his weird ways, she found the gesture sweet. Then she realized he had always been there and that she loved him. Hence, she decided to open up more. More of such moments between the couple made her realize he was the one for her. They exchanged more letters before starting to text again and rekindling their friendship. Their relationship progressed quickly, with Stephen popping the question in June. Now, they are a happy married couple with so much joy still to come.
