Tommy Cash Dies At 84
Mr. Tommy Cash passed away last Friday and is survived by his wife Marcy and his sister Joanne. No cause of death has been specified at this time. However, his wife did mention via social media a history of Parkinson’s disease last year in reference to his retirement. Some people say one of the most important parts of a person’s life is the legacy they leave behind. The younger Cash brother left a lovely legacy. Many of his friends and family fondly remember him.
A statement was made about his passing by his friend, as well as CEO and founder of the Johnny Cash Museum, Bill Miller. The social media post read: “We are saddened to announce that the world lost a bright light last evening with the passing of Tommy Cash. I knew him for over 50 years. Tommy Cash was a loyal supporter of the Johnny Cash Museum and a very beloved member of our extended family as well as a highly respected member of the music industry. This great man will be deeply missed by his friends and many loyal fans around the world. Please keep Tommy’s beloved wife, Marcy and his family in your prayers.”
The Life Of The Younger Cash
Tommy Cash started his adult life in a selfless way—serving his country with the US Army. After that, he pursued music professionally. Cash signed a record with Musicor Records in 1965 and would sign additional record deals and create some amazing hits. Most notably are his biggest hits like “One Song Away, Rise and Shine, and Six White Horses.” Most notably, “Six White Horses” reached No. 4 on the country charts. The song was a moving tribute to John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.
Most of his biggest hits occurred in the 1960s, but he did perform with his brother on Johnny Cash’s song “Guess Things Happen That Way” in 1990. The Younger Cash was touring and performing music until 2023, when his health no longer allowed him to do so. Besides singing, he was on the silver screen for the film The River Thief in 2016. Tommy Cash was also an accomplished realtor and a loving husband.
